New KAREN team appointments.

Hello Asia.

KAREN, the innovative high-end fashion, travel and luxury goods magazine, currently available in Australasia, has made three new key appointments that will add to the magazine's already recognised reputation for being uncompromising on creativity and quality. Michael Azzollini has been appointed Fashion Director, Nathalie Agussol Senior Fashion Editor and Damian Garbenis Art Director.

These three professionals bring with them great credentials and experience, which will continue KAREN's commitment to delivering to their discerning readers the continued excellence of world class content, design and sumptuous presentation.

Michael Azzollini: Fashion Director.

Michael has worked as a freelance fashion editor for 15 years for publications including Wallpaper, Oyster, GQ and Harpers Bazaar. He is a creative visionary who has styled for major fashion and luxury brands and celebrities including Hugh Jackman and Danni Minogue. Given full creative control on his eponymous swimwear range, Michael became an industry leader with his breathtaking presentation and design. Starting with KAREN's very first issue Michael was there, styling Miranda Kerr.

Nathalie Agussol: Senior Fashion Editor.

Nathalie's career started with an internship with the legendary French photographer Guy Bourdin in Paris and over the last 20 years she has worked on Elle, Cleo, Vogue and as senior fashion editor for Marie Claire. She is freshly back in Australia after a decade of living in New York, where she worked as a stylist for Conde Nast Traveler, Interview, Spanish Harpers and Italian Grazia. Clients have included department store giants such as Saks Fifth Avenue and high profile entertainers such as Diane Krueger, Alicia Silverstone and Matt Dillon.

Damian Garbenis: Art Director.

With a Bachelor of Design, Damian brings a rich depth of experience and a passion for magazine and book design. His experience over 20 years has taken him from ACP Sydney to Torre Lazur McCann in Beijing. Damien has worked in award-winning teams in advertising agencies in Australia and Asia and is currently partner in design studio DKD Agency. Brought up in Asia, Australia and the UK, he has a sophisticated vision based on global design and he loves magazines.

Marian Simms: Editor-in-Chief of KAREN.

I have so enjoyed working with these gifted and inspiring creative talents, we have created glorious dream team. They will bring a fresh eye and opinion to KAREN in our sixth year strengthening our reputation for strong originality and taking us into new territories.

In 2011 KAREN will make key moves into Asia, with satellite offices opening up in Singapore and Hong Kong. There will also be a major announcement in the New Year of exciting and groundbreaking projects in China.
